Project Description
The McCallum Airbnb project was a race against time with spectacular results. Our client had just acquired a short-term rental property in Dallas and needed it guest-ready and optimized for maximum bookings as quickly as possible. The challenge: create a cohesive, memorable space that would stand out in a competitive market while staying within a practical budget and aggressive timeline.
The Vision
The client envisioned a relaxed boho aesthetic — warm, welcoming, and effortlessly stylish — with thoughtful nods to Dallas that would give guests a genuine sense of place. The space needed to photograph beautifully for listings while also being comfortable and functional for extended stays. Most importantly, it had to make an immediate impression that would translate into five-star reviews and repeat bookings.
The Design Process
We curated a carefully selected palette of light, airy tones to make the space feel open and refreshing — essential for both photography and guest comfort. Natural textures like rattan, linen, and woven accents were layered throughout to achieve that coveted boho warmth without feeling cluttered.
To create a distinctive sense of place, we sourced artwork featuring iconic Dallas landmarks and local references that serve as conversation starters and memorable backdrops for guests’ photos. Every piece was chosen not just for aesthetics, but for durability and easy maintenance — critical considerations for a high-turnover rental property.
The furniture selection balanced style with practicality, featuring pieces that could withstand frequent use while maintaining their visual appeal. We focused on creating inviting vignettes throughout the space that would translate beautifully to listing photos while feeling genuinely comfortable in person.
